Cast Breakdown/Audition Requirements
Man 1 – Rich and powerful man in his 40’s – 50’s. Baritone range. Sings “Hello, Little Girl”, “The Road You Didn’t Take”, “Good Thing Going”, “Country House” and others
Man 2 – Up and employee of Man 1’s in his 20’s – 30’s. Tenor range. Sings “Marry Me A Little”, “Live Alone and Like It”, “Unworthy of Your Love” and others
Man 3 – Narrator, any age. Baritone/Tenor range. Sings “Bang”, “Invocation & Instructions to the Audience”, “Everybody Ought to Have a Maid” and others
Woman 1 – Rich and frustrated wife of Man 1 in her 40’s – 50’s. Alto range. Sings “Could I Leave You”, “Getting Married Today”, “Do I Hear a Waltz” and others
Woman 2 - Ambitious girlfriend of Man 2 in her 20’s – 30’s. Soprano range, but with a good mid-belt. Sings “Lovely”, “Sooner or Later”, “More” and others.
Woman 3 – Narrator, any age. Mezzo range. Sings “Bang”, Invocation & Instructions to the Audience”, “Every Day a Little Death” and others.
All must be strong singers who can act the story behind the song as well as they sing it. Please prepare 32 bars each of 2 contrasting songs, preferably by Sondheim.
